THE BRISTOL MODERNIST & SIXTIES WEEKENDER 2021
FRIDAY 30TH APRIL TO MONDAY 3RD MAY 2021
COVID UPDATE - JANUARY 2021 - At this stage we are currently keeping an eye on the current situation and will be making decisions regarding the weekender at the end of February 2021. Please stay in touch for further information. Thanks
Due to the government stepping in and cancelling all public events in the run up to the Bristol weekender 2020 unfortunately, like others we had no choice but to postpone the event to 2021.
As you can imagine this was a hard blow to take as we had sold out the event weeks before its arrival, we have however been bowled over at the amount of support we have received from wristband holders, friends, family and music business partners. Because of this support we can announce that ALL wristbands that were purchased for the 2020 weekender will be valid for our 2021 May bank holiday weekender, not only that but we are extending the weekend from 2 days to 3 meaning that anyone who bought a wristband for 2020 automatically will have admission to all 3 nights and daytime events at no extra cost!
We have spoken to all the bands, venues and DJ's and can also announce that they are all looking forward to being part of our bigger, better 2021 experience. the line up will remain the same with added guests and live music just in a slightly different running order with SMALL FAKERS headlining the opening event on Friday 30th April.
Our venues, Basement 45, The Louisiana and The Ostrich are all in the city centre in the postcode BS1 for hotel bookings.
Of course staging the event over a bank holiday means two daytime events with stalls, DJ's scooters and scooter cruises as well as a scooter competition and plenty of time to visit the historic city.
We are now very proud to announce our added guests and attractions for the weekend. From a live band perspective we already had the incredible Small Fakers, Big Boss Man and Little Triggers booked for 2020. We are now able to tell you that the Italian/UK mod super group
will be joining the festivities!
Not only that but we have lined up a special treat for Sunday night. Over the lockdown period in 2020 there have been some amazing online DJ sets to keep everyone entertained, one of those shows has become a worldwide phenomena, with listeners spanning the globe including Motown's Carolyn Crawford who regularly tunes in. literally 1000's of people have heard these two guys play their hearts out every Saturday and we are proud to Bring them to the Bristol weekender to host their own special party.
Suit Yourself are proud to bring you 'from the centre of their universe.......'
CHILLS & FEVER - THE CLUB NIGHT
Both Andy Hill and Sean Chapman will be taking over the Bristol weekender bringing with them the full Chills & Fever experience including full production and Chills & Fever decor for the club. Expect to live the magic that these guys bring with this incredible evening, just remember, dress to impress and no drinks on the dance floor.
Lastly, as an added bonus on Sunday daytime we welcome Bryan Rookes' ultra cool
CATCH MY DRIFT
Bryan has been promoting in the south west for years and his super cool visuals are stunning. Bryan will be bringing the full visual and audio experience to our Sunday afternoon event.
With these added attractions coupled with the already stella line up booked for 2020 we are also pleased as punch to welcome Modclothin to the weekend who will be setting up shop for the weekend and donating some magnificent prizes for our raffle raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, they won't be on their own as there will be other stalls including Spinout records, Detail magazine, Sound is colour and more, so without further ado below is the full line up for the 2021 weekender. A full line up and schedule has now been made available to view (above). from this point we will be taking names of people that require wristbands for 2021 - Please contact us through this website or our Facebook page.
We are really excited to bring you the Bristol weekender 2021 over the bank holiday, there was a conscious decision made to move our weekender to this date as it's a warmer time of year (great for scooters) and Bristol has so much to offer visitors in the form of attractions, museums, galleries, shops and restaurants, over the forthcoming months we will be guiding you through some of the cities sites and interviewing some of the cool people that live in this wonderful city.
Hotel and travel information.
Hotels near the venues - All the venues are in the city centre, closest hotels are in the BS1 and BS2 postal code areas.
Travel - Bristol Temple Meads train station is a five minute cab journey to the venues and Bristol sits nicely on the M4 and M5 motorways, if coming by scooter there are plenty of A roads leading into the city from all over the south west.
